Maneesh Sagar, Chairman & CEO

Maneesh is a serial entrepreneur, VC, and coach. He is also the Founder of Thynk Ventures, an early stage VC, investing in AI, IoT, machine learning, and process automation. He has an MBA from Columbia Business School, and a BA in Economics (Magna Cum Laude) from Ohio Wesleyan University, where he was a Presidential Scholar.

He has a history of investing in, and scaling up disruptive startups.  He was the Co-Founder of NeuVis (acq by IBM-Rational) where he raised over $80 million and grew the company to over 350 employees. At Huntington House, he created the first online sustainable development marketplace. At MondoWindow, he setup the worlds first browser based moving map #IFE company, and at Sirl.io, he made retail searchable.

He was Managing Director at Connecticut Innovations, where he invested in mobile, enterprise software, marketing automation, and IOT.  Investments and advisory roles include Frevvo, Keisense (acq by Nuance), NetKey (acq by NCR), ROI (acq by Revionics), Premise (acq by Eclipsys), SilverSky (acq by BAE Systems) ShopText (acq by Anomaly), HigherOne (NYSE) and SmartEquip.

Maneesh is an Innovation Fellow and a Founding Career Coach at Columbia Business School, where he teaches classes on startups, venture capital, conductsindustry panels, advises students and alumni one-on-one, and leads global trips. He also advisesthe Lang Entrepreneurial Center, W. Edward Deming Center and judges the Columbia Venture Competition.

Tom Diamond, President

Tom Diamond is President of Remote Sensing Metrics, with a focus on business development and strategic alliances.

Tom’s brings his extensive experience as a strategic advisor to corporate managers and institutional investors, operational experience, and background in engineering and product development, provide a deep understanding of how technology and data-driven analysis can benefit business decision-making.

Prior to RS Metrics, Tom was a Director with Stax, Inc., a corporate and investor strategy consulting firm, where he led and managed relationships for eight years with major corporations, leveraged buyout firms and their portfolio companies, and hedge fund clients. His work often revolved around quantifying and forecasting behaviors of customers and markets to support major decisions for growth strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and public equities trading. Previously, Tom was co-founder of Fulcrum Systems, an enterprise software company using massive data sets for design and ongoing optimization of complex corporate telecommunication networks, where he served as Vice President of Marketing. Fulcrum was acquired in 2003 by a telecom carrier-focused channel partner looking to expand its offering to enterprise clients. Tom began his career as a design engineer for mobile communications devices, and holds a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Alex Diamond, VP Products / CTO

Alex Diamond brings extensive geospatial big-data experience to the RS Metrics team as Vice President of Products, with responsibility for product management and development, data science and analytics management, client technical inquiries and services, feasibility studies, and sourcing data and managing relationships with all of RS Metrics’ data acquisition partners.

Alex is a talented and experienced product management executive possessing deep skills within geospatial big-data, fintech, data science, and analytics development. As one of the pioneers of quantitative information derived from satellite imagery, Alex has a proven ability to turn unstructured geospatial information into valuable and actionable data feeds, applications, and APIs. Alex demonstrates leadership and entrepreneurial innovation with over 17 years of experience as a vendor and customer, achieving multiple awards, patents, and national media mentions throughout his career.

Prior to co-founding RS Metrics, Alex was a Senior Product Manager at satellite imagery owner and operator DigitalGlobe, Inc. where he developed products and services for global commercial distribution partners, including Google Earth, and focused on end-market solutions for the oil & gas exploration and mining industries and municipal clients. Alex holds a BA in Geography/GIS from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Jonas Laeben, Vice President of Sales

Jonas Laeben brings 19 years of enterprise sales experience to RS Metrics, as VP Sales. His areas of expertise include Big Data, Artificial Intelligence and Cloud Computing. Jonas started his career as a member of the sales team at Oracle, where he developed a laser focus on identifying customer needs and creating solutions to address them. Jonas was also one of the pioneers in SaaS and cloud computing in the early days at Webex, as the Nordics Country Manager, and in senior enterprise sales roles at LinkedIn, Cap Gemini and General Electric.

Arj Wignaraja, Managing Director, RS Metrics Asia

As Managing Director for RS Metrics Asia, Arj is responsible for analysis and synthesis of remote sensing data, company specific data, and macroeconomic data that form the core of our subscription and custom event-based products.   Arj also leads day-to-day management and skills development of our data analyst teams, quality control, and technology and systems architecture and operations.

Before RS Metrics, Arj was a Managing Director with Stax, Inc., a corporate and investor strategy consulting firm, where as head of the Colombo, Sri Lanka office, he led oversight of all output, quality control, and integration with U.S. operations, as well as leading a wide range of client projects and managing select client relationships.   Formerly, Arj was with The Boston Consulting Group, where he helped formulate business strategies for Fortune 500 clients in financial services and industrial goods.  Arj has an MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management and a BA in Economics, with honors, from Princeton University.

Rashmi Bomiriya, PhD, Chief Data Scientist

As Chief Data Scientist for RS Metrics Asia, Rashmi is responsible for designing and developing analytical products that combines internal and external data to generate actionable insights, conducting research and machine learning experiments, advising the development team on how to structure the data etc. She utilizes her expertise in development languages such as R, Python, prototyping and visualization tools such as RShiny and database technologies to quickly turn ideas into easy-to-use products to show business value and get traction from potential clients. Rashmi also leads day-to-day management and skills development of our data scientists and junior statisticians.

Rashmi holds a PhD in Statistics from the Pennsylvania State University and a BSc Special Degree in Statistics, with honors and the gold medal for the best student in Statistics, from University of Colombo. Prior to pursuing her PhD,  Rashmi was an Associate Vice President at Amba Research Lanka (Pvt) Ltd (Now Moody’s Analytics, Knowledge Services), a financial services provider for Wall Street clients, where she implemented portfolio optimization algorithms, change detection algorithms, generated automated research reports etc, in addition to training and managing a group of quantitative analysts.  Among other things, she also served as an online instructor for graduate level Statistics courses for Penn State World Campus for several years. Currently, she is also a member of the Board of Management for Center for Data Science, University of Colombo.
